As promised while I will not change the address of this blog again, I feel complete freedom to fiddle with the look and feel.  To get to the blog click on the words, “THE NOTEBOOK” above.  This welcome page may be a waste but I’m doing it because I can.  Some of the old blog pages will have ‘placeholder text.’  Try to ignore it, I am. 

I have been asked, though not often because this blog does not get many hits, if I have ever thought about centering this blog around a theme.  No.  I have no strong predisposition in any single direction.  My initial thought was to force my writing to improve by posting it where there was at least the chance for others to read it, and to write because I felt what I put out there was different from anything else I had come across.  Both of those reasons still apply.

If I were to center on a theme though after having done this for four and a half years, it would be ethics.  I don’t pretend any great knowledge or ability in this area, but I have come to recognize it is an area where all of us could use more attention.  If ethics were taught more seriously in our homes, if it were practiced more consistently in our society, and if we held each other accountable more often to a higher standard I think this world would be a better place.
